Flávio is an agronomist with a PhD in Plant Production and a post-doctorate in Science and Process Engineering of Agricultural Products from Wageningen University. He is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). His areas of specialization are coffee processing, drying, storage and quality.

Joel Shuler

Joel Shuler is the owner of Casa Brasil Coffees, the first US coffee company to focus exclusively on high quality Brazilian coffees. Fluent in Portuguese, he has worked as a translator for the Brazilian women’s Olympic soccer team and as a media liaison to CNN for Brazil’s Canal Futura. Joel is a Q Grade Instructor, holds the Port of Santos Classification license and is currently pursuing a Masters in Agricultural Engineering at the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras)

Aldécio Piagentini

Aldécio is an industrial chemical and currently serves as the Technical and Industrial Director at Pinhalense S.A. Máquinas Agrícolas. He specializes in projects and equipment development for coffee drying, milling, sorting and wet-method processing as well as general seed and grain preparation. He holds various patents in these areas.

Antonio Texeira de Matos

Antonio is an agricultural engineer with a master’s in Agricultural Engineering and a PhD in Soils and Plant Nutrition from the Federal University of Viçosa (Universidade Federal de Viçosa). He is an associate professor at the Federal University of Viçosa. His areas of specialization are: physical environmental quality and the agricultural reuse of waste products.

Eder Pedroza Isquierdo

Eder is an agricultural engineer with a master’s degree and PhD from Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). His areas of specialization are agricultural product processing, drying, and storage.

Edivaldo Aparecido Amaral da Silva

Edivaldo is an agronomist with a PhD in Plant Physiology from Wageningen University. He is currently a researcher at the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). His areas of specialization are seed germination, dormancy, coffee, anatomy, and the physiological and molecular biology of seed quality.

Ednilton Tavares de Andrade

Ednilton is an agricultural engineer. He received a bachelor’s degree from the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras) and a master’s degree and PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Viçosa (Universidade Federal de Viçosa). He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Fluminese (Universidade Federal de Fluminese). His areas of specialization are the processing and storage of agricultural products, principally in the areas of quality, drying, warehousing, storage, energy, and workplace safety.

Evandro de Castro

Evandro is an agricultural engineer with a PhD in Agronomy. He completed a post-doctorate fellowship at the University of Valladoid. He is an associate professor at the Federal University of Viçosa (Universidade Federal de Viçosa). His areas of specialization are: drying, storage, and simulation.

Fabiana Carmanini Ribeiro

Fabiana is an agricultural engineer with a bachelor’s degrees in Agronomy from the Federal University of Viçosa (Universidade Federal de Viçosa) and a masters’s degree and PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). She is currently an assistant professor at the University of Brasilia (Universidade de Brasília). Her areas of specialization are the processing, drying, storage and quality of agricultural products.

Fátima Resende Luiz Fia

Fátima is an agricultural engineer with a bachelor’s degree from the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras) and a master’s degree and PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Viçosa (Universidade Federal de Viçosa). She is currently a professor in the Engineering Department at the Federal University of Lavras. Her areas of specialization are water quality, and water supply treatment, and wastewater treatment.

Fátima Chieppe Parizzi

Fátima is an agronomist and holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering. She is currently a Federal Agricultural Inspector for the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock Farming, and Supply. Her areas of specialization are grain quality and the standardization, classification, inspection, and processing of plant products.

Francisco is an agricultural engineer with a PhD in Structural Engineering. He is currently an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). His areas of specialization are: the physical properties of stored products, warehouse structures, and wooden structures.

Geraldo Andrade Carvalho

Geraldo is an agronomist with a master’s in Plant Science and a PhD in Entomology from the Luis de Queiroz School of Agriculture (Escola Superior de Agricultura ‘Luiz de Queiroz”). He completed a post-graduate fellowship at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). His areas of specialization are: selectivity, pesticides, pest control, biological control and plant extract insecticides.

Jadir Nogueira da Silva

Jadir holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a PhD in Agricultural Engineering and completed a post-doctorate fellowship at the Liebniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering in Postsdam/Berlin . He is currently a tenured professor at the Federal University of Viçosa (Universidade Federal de Viçosa). His areas of specialization are: biomass energy, agricultural product drying, gasification and biomass combustion, thermal comfort, and aviary heating.

Jayme de Toledo Piza e Almeida Neto

Jayme is a mechanical engineer with a PhD in Sciences. He is currently a professor in Mechanics and Mechanized Agriculture, a technical adviser at Pinhalense S.A. Máquinas Agrícolas and holds various patents for agricultural equipment.

José Henrique da Silva Taveira

José is an agricultural engineer with a master’s degree in Food Science. He is currently a PhD candidate in Agricultural Engineering at the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). His areas of specialization are agricultural product processing, post-harvest, and coffee quality.

Luisa Pereira Figueiredo

Luisa is a food science engineer with a PhD in Food Science from the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). Her areas of specialization are coffee chemical composition and coffee quality.

Paola Alfonsa Vieira Lo Monaco

Paola is an agricultural engineer with a PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Viçosa (Universidade Federal de Viçosa). She is a professor at the Federal Insitute of Espirito Santo (Instituto Federal do Espírito). Her areas of specialization are water and environmental resources.

Paulo César Alfonso Júnior

Paulo is an agricultural engineer with a PhD in Agricultural Engineering. He is a researcher with the Brazilian Enterprise for Agricultural Research (Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária). His areas of specialization are coffee, preparation methods, hygroscopy, drying, storage, thermic and physical properties, physiological quality, and chemical composition.

Paulo Cesar Corrêa

Paulo is an agronomist with a master’s in Agricultural Engineering and a PhD in Agronomy with a specialization in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He is an associate professor at the Federal University of Viçosa (Universidade Federal de Viçosa) and the editor of the Brazilian Journal of Storage (RevistaBrasileira de Armazenamento). His areas of specialization are: the engineering of agricultural product processing, physical properties of coffee and post-harvest quality.

Paulo is an agronomist with a PhD in the Sciences. He is a researcher both with the Minas Gerais Enterprise for Agricultural Research (Empresade Pesquisa Agropecuária de Minas Gerais) and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvemento Científico e Tecnolófico), as well as a professor in the Entomology Department at the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). His areas of specialization are: agricultural acarology, agricultural entomology, ecological coffee pest management, biological pest control, chemical pest control, and selectivity.

Ronaldo Fia

Ronaldo is an agricultural and environmental engineer with a PhD in Agricultural Engineering with a focus on Water and Environmental Resources from the Federal University of Viçosa (Universidade Federal de Viçosa). He is currently a professor in the Engineering Department at theFederal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). His areas of specialization are the treatment of wastewater and solid agro-industrial and household waste.

Roberto Precci Lopes

Roberto is an agricultural engineer with a PhD in Agricultural Engineering. He is a professor at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (Universidade Federal Rural de Rio de Janeiro). His areas of specialization are furnaces, heating air, agricultural energy use, charcoal, boilers, and drying.

Sára Maria Chalfoun

Sára is an agronomist with a PhD in Plant Science. She is a researcher with the Minas Gerais Enterprise for Agricultural Research (Empresade Pesquisa Agropecuária de Minas Gerais) and the National Institute of Coffee Science and Technology (Instituto Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia) Her areas of specialization are coffee, good agricultural practices, processing, food safety, integrated control, and mycotoxins.

Silvio Leite

Silvio is a master cupper and cupping judge. He has been working with coffee since 1990 and is considered to be one of the world’s foremost coffee cuppers. He is one of the founders of the Cup of Excellence (COE) and currently serves as a COE head judge as well as a director at Proud Café. He leads specialty coffee lectures and professional cupping sessions worldwide.

Terezinha da Jesus Garcia Salva

Terezinha is a food science engineer with PhD in Food Science. She is a researcher at the Alcides Carvalho Coffee Research Center, part of the Agricultural Institute of Campinas (Instituto Agronômico de Campinas). Her areas of specialization are coffee processing and the chemical characterization of coffee.

Valdiney Cambuy Siqueira

Valdiney is an agronomist and a PhD candidate in Agricultural Engineering at the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). He is currently an assistant professor at the Federal Universiry of Grande Dourados (Universidade Federal da Grande Dourados). His areas of specialization are: agricultural product processing, drying, storage, physical properties of grains, and simulation.

Vanusia Nogueira

Vanusia is a system engineer and business administrator. She is currently a PhD candidate in marketing, with a focus on competitive positioning in the coffee market. She has been a part of the Brazilian coffee industry since 2001 after working 15 years as a marketing consultant at PwC Consulting. She is currently the executive director of the Brazil Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA).

Vitor Hugo Teixeira

Vitor is an agricultural engineer with a PhD in Agricultural Energy. He is an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Lavras (Universidade Federal de Lavras). His areas of specialization environmental studies and coffee processing infrastructure.
